Account Manager

Segal Communications is looking to add an Account Manager to their rapidly growing team. This person will be very organized, know how to delegate, balance the team’s workload and contribute to client work on a daily basis. We are seeking a seasoned PR professional who can manage a healthy roster of new and existing clients, lead and manage a team of account executives, account coordinators, and interns, and is a pro under pressure. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Senior contact for client accounts – always confirming client satisfaction
  • Responsible for overall client management and agency performance on assigned accounts
  • Campaign oversight, serve as a project manager: anticipate account needs, devise a plan, assign responsibilities, and ensure on-time deliverables
  • Ensure team is servicing the client at an appropriate level; manage client expectations
  • Achieve exceptional outcomes for current clients and manage an extended portfolio ensuring consistency of service is delivered in line with company policy
  • Develop senior press relationships and manage contacts with key commentators, industry spokespeople, and sector influencers
  • Manage a team that may include account executives, account coordinators, and interns
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to direct reports to drive a positive work culture; develop & mentor junior team members into comms pros of the future
  • Conduct regular check ins and performance reviews with junior team members
  • Actively contribute to the growth of the business; identify and develop new business opportunities; participate in new business development

REQUIREMENTS

  • 3 – 5 years experience working in a public relations agency setting
  • Comfort in taking on the responsibilities of a managerial role
  • Exceptional ability to act as a trusted advisor to clients
  • Demonstrated ability to develop creative and thorough communications plans and achieve set KPIs
  • Excellent project management skills with strong organizational and planning skills – a planner by nature, Monday, Asana, and Airtable are your favorite tools – you watch organizing videos in your free time
  • Aligns with Segal philosophy that talent development is about positive reinforcement and that mistakes are part of the learning process
  • Deep understanding of the media landscape and strong media relationships
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills – you can draft a pitch, press release, media alert, or client email in your sleep
  • Outstanding interpersonal and delegation skills
  • Thrives under pressure but knows when to take a beat and put what’s possible into perspective

Senior Account Executive

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Senior contact for client accounts – always confirming client satisfaction
  • Full cycle pitching
  • Assist in coordinating influencer partnerships
  • Draft press releases and other media materials
  • Contribute to PR plans and development of pitch strategy
  • Contribute to achieving exceptional outcomes for current clients
  • Develop senior press relationships and coordinate contacts with key commentators, industry spokespeople, and sector influencers
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to account executives, account coordinators, and interns
  • Contribute to the agency’s growth through efforts such as writing blog posts, drafting case studies, and preparing awards materials
  • Actively contribute to the growth of the business; participate in new business development
  • Participate in company retreats, team building activities, and team office days

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 – 2  years experience working in a public relations agency setting
  • Ability to take direction and work independently
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid understanding of the media landscape and strong media relationships
  • Organized, strong attention to detail
  • Fast learner, proactive, positive attitude
  • Takes initiative and can work with minimal supervision
  • Advanced in PR software programs and G Suite
  • Strong organizational and planning skills

Account Executive

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pitch media on regular basis 
  • Assist in coordinating influencer partnerships
  • Draft press releases and other media materials
  • Serve as a mid-level contact for client accounts – always questioning the happiness level of client contacts
  • Contribute to PR plans and development of pitch strategy
  • Contribute to achieving exceptional outcomes for current clients
  • Develop ongoing press relationships and coordinate contacts with key commentators, industry spokespeople, and sector influencers
  • Provide leadership, direction, and guidance to account coordinators and interns
  • Contributing to the agency’s growth through efforts such as writing blog posts, drafting case studies, and preparing awards materials
  • Supporting new business efforts
  • Participating in company retreats, team building activities, and team office days

REQUIREMENTS

  • 1 year of experience working in a public relations agency setting
  • Ability to take direction and work independently
  • Very strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Frequently reads news sites related to industry of client accounts, savvy about current media landscape
  • Organized, strong attention to detail
  • Fast learner, proactive, positive attitude

Account Coordinator

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coverage tracking and reporting
  • Researching journalists and reporters 
  • Building media and influencer lists
  • Assisting in pitch strategy development 
  • Actively pitching media and influencers
  • Coordinating influencer partnerships
  • Drafting and/or editing press documents
  • Assisting with event planning and execution
  • Supporting speaking & awards programs
  • Drafting meeting agendas
  • Attending staff and client meetings, taking notes as needed
  • Writing event listings, developing client reports, and general office duties
  • Submitting calendar listings
  • Participate in company retreats, team building activities, and team office days
  • Contribute to the agency’s growth through efforts such as writing blog posts for the company website
  • Participate in new business efforts
