Fall Public Relations Internship with Segal Communications (Hybrid)

The purpose of an internship at Segal Communications is to benefit both the intern and the company. Your experience at Segal Communications will support your personal growth and help you to achieve your career goals, while you will help support the goals of the company. This will occur through you successfully taking on a variety of different tasks, responsibilities, and ongoing projects. You will learn the ins and outs of daily life at a communications agency and perfect the art of landing clients earned coverage.

Schedule
Fall Internship
Hours: 16 per week
Daily Schedule: flexible schedule

What you’ll do
Media monitoring and reporting
Source relevant story inquiries
Media & influencer list building
Full cycle pitching
Support influencer campaigns
Client research across a broad range of industries and subjects
Policy and regulatory research and analysis
Content creation, including blog posts, op-eds, website, newsletters, content, and social media posts
Create client briefings for conferences, speaking engagements, and media appearances
Build and update databases
Admin and scheduling
Take meeting notes, draft recaps and agendas

What we need
The successful candidate will be an excellent writer, detail-oriented, extremely efficient, and be able to think creatively and strategically. Competitive candidates will have (or be within one year of receiving) a relevant degree.

Internship Credit
If you’re a student, check in with your university’s career center on how you’ll receive credit. We’ll sign off on the paperwork and provide your internship supervisor with the necessary progress & final reports.

Internship Pay
Segal Communications compensates interns who are recent graduates with an hourly rate in accordance with the wage requirements of San Francisco. Interns are required to fill out a timesheet daily for hours tracking. Current students are not eligible for hourly pay only credit.

Hiring Post Internship
After successful completion of the program, if paid job openings are available, interns will be strongly considered.

Draft and edit topical content for clients
Monitor hot conversations in client-related verticals
Develop social media calendars for both clients and the company
Research, follow, and engage with influential channels on behalf of clients
Interact with content in a timely and professional manner
Build an archive of evergreen content
Admin and scheduling
Take meeting notes, draft recaps, reports, and agendas

What we need
The successful candidate will have a great eye for content, color, and consistency, be an excellent photographer/reel videographer, writer, detail-oriented, extremely efficient, and be able to think creatively and strategically. Working knowledge of Canva, Adobe products, or similar is desired. Competitive candidates will have (or be within one year of receiving) a relevant degree.
